As you might have noticed (or rather, not noticed), I haven’t been posting on this blog very often. In fact, the past few weeks it’s been a consistent every other Thursday.
Part of the reason for this is that I’m also posting every other Friday on TheRebelution. Trying to do an article a week for this blog, plus another every couple weeks for TheReb, plus other writing and editing responsibilities… it hasn’t been working out.
But since I don’t want to just disappear, I’ve come up with a compromise.
I’ll still try and share an article on Thursdays on the “off-weeks” where I’m not publishing anything on TheReb. But in addition to that, I want to start sharing “snippets” on Mondays. The plan is to share art and media of various kinds–it could be a link to an article, a song I’ve been enjoying, or some of my own poetry. Let me know what you think! I really value your input.
(And yes. I’m aware that it’s Tuesday. Yesterday we had a birthday, and different stuff going on, and I didn’t get much done [although one thing I did get done was to go for a drive by myself for the first time. Yay!])
At the Andrew Peterson concert my mom and I attended a few weeks ago, AP introduced a song from his new album (releasing March 30), based on Revelation 5. It was a call-and-response song–he sang the question, and we sang the answer. It was so powerful!
The music video released a few days ago, and the artistry and beauty of the song is on full display.
“Do you feel the world is broken?” “We do.” “Do you feel the shadows deepen?” “We do.”
I know I’ll be listening to this song a lot, and I can’t wait for the new album to release!
(AP’s recent article responding to some criticism about the video is also well worth the read. His humility is a beautiful example.)
Are you familiar with AP’s music? What’s your current favorite song?
