I was very conflicted on which poem to post this week. Honestly, most of what I wrote wasn’t that great, or else not something I’d ever share.
The business of writers is words; but words need to have something behind them. You can’t just write for the sake of “being a writer” or wanting to have your words heard. There has to be something deeper than that.
For me, that thing is the truth I know in the Bible. What’s yours?
Words gleam like morning sun on the water
But who will draw
Who will drink
If there’s only a puddle beneath?
You can try
To make them believe
It’s just the surface of some
Deep flowing stream
But waters recede and
Time will tell
The difference.
Wow.
I really needed to read this. <3
I love this poem! It’s so encouraging!
